Similar to a brownie, blondies have the same texture but substitute cocoa powder for vanilla and usually use a brown sugar. I like to use a golden caster sugar as I find it gives the best results.
Since starting RhiaBakes I have posted recipes for brownies, cookies, crumbles, cupcakes and much more, but I have never posted a recipe for my Cookie Bars! Scrolling back through my page reminded me how popular the Kinder Cookie Bars were and that it was time for a new twist!
I know Millionaire Shortbreads seem like quite a daunting recipe to try as there are multiple stages but you shouldn’t worry. Each layer on it’s own is very simple and you don’t need any fancy equipment. This is a brilliant bake to take to a friends house for dinner, gift in a hamper or sell in a festive bake sale. Wherever you take it I am sure the recipients will love it!
Millionaire shortbread’s used to be one of my favourite treats. I would always get them from our local bakery. The buttery biscuit base with the soft caramel and crisp chocolate is so good!
